Insta360 Takes Flight with Antigravity
Insta360 has announced its boldest move yet — the launch of Antigravity, a new sub-brand debuting with the Antigravity A1, touted as the world’s first drone equipped with 8K 360-degree capture. The A1 is set to take off early next year, bringing the company’s 360-camera expertise into the skies for the first time.
Immersive Dual-Lens Experience
The Antigravity A1 features dual lenses placed on both the top and bottom, eliminating blind spots and capturing a complete spherical view. Paired with Antigravity’s Vision goggles and Grip controller, along with proprietary FreeMotion technology, pilots can explore their surroundings in full 360 degrees and control the drone through intuitive hand gestures for a uniquely immersive flight.
Lightweight and Regulation-Friendly
Weighing only 249 grams (about 0.5 pounds), the A1 meets drone regulations in most countries. “We didn’t want to just build another drone,” said BC Nie, Head of Marketing at Antigravity. “We wanted to create an entirely new way to fly — safe, intuitive, expressive, and endlessly creative.”
The Competitive Skies Ahead
Insta360’s move comes just two weeks after DJI unveiled its Osmo 360, signaling a brewing rivalry in the 360-degree camera space. With the Antigravity A1, Insta360 aims to redefine aerial creativity and secure its dominance in immersive imaging.
