Tom Sachs and Nike Unveil the Mars Yard 3.0 with Interactive Launch

Tom Sachs and Nike’s NikeCraft program are back in the spotlight with the official debut of the Mars Yard 3.0, set to release on September 13. This marks the highly anticipated return of the experimental sneaker series, which first gained a cult following for its unique design and innovative construction.

A New Chapter for NikeCraft

The Mars Yard 3.0 was first teased in February, when Sachs and Nike revealed its updated technical details. By May, sneaker fans had already gotten a closer look at the revamped silhouette, building anticipation around the drop. Now, the wait is nearly over as the sneaker enters its official launch phase.

The I.S.R.U. App Challenge

As part of the rollout, Sachs and Nike have introduced the I.S.R.U. (In-Situ Resource Utilization) app, designed to make the buying process more interactive. Weekly challenges within the app allow participants to earn points and climb a leaderboard. Those who secure a qualifying position will gain exclusive access to purchase the Mars Yard 3.0 ahead of its global release.

Exclusive Early Access

Winners of the I.S.R.U. challenge can purchase the Mars Yard 3.0 on September 5 directly from Tom Sachs’ official webstore. The retail price is set at $275 USD. In classic Sachs fashion, he emphasized that the shoes will remain difficult to obtain, stating: “Mars Yards have always been hard to get, and they’re always going to be hard to get. If you want them, you’re going to have to work for them.”

More Than Just Sneakers

Sachs also highlighted that the app’s purpose extends beyond sneaker access. The daily challenges are designed to encourage participants to build meaningful habits and routines, reinforcing his belief that the process itself is just as valuable as the end reward.
