Ford Unveils Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon: A Raw Display of Race-Bred Engineering

Ford has revealed the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon, a bold new trim that leaves the supercar’s carbon fiber construction fully exposed. Making its debut at Laguna Seca Raceway, the Liquid Carbon treatment highlights how advanced materials are not only shaping performance but also redefining the look of Ford’s most extreme Mustang.

Inspired by the Track

Drawing from the Mustang GT3 race car, the Liquid Carbon is engineered with performance in mind. By removing paint and replacing the door sheet metal with bonded carbon fiber, the model drops 13 pounds compared to a GTD Carbon Series fitted with the Performance package.

“Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon is the ultimate expression of the Mustang GTD’s high-tech, high-performance construction,” said Chief Program Engineer Greg Goodall.

Seamless Craftsmanship

The artistry of the Liquid Carbon lies in its precision. The carbon weave patterns are meticulously aligned across the hood, roof, deck, and rear wing, creating a continuous midline that emphasizes the car’s sculpted form. Black Brembo calipers and a gloss-black GTD script intensify the aggressive styling, while the standard Performance package ensures track-focused capability.

Performance Meets Bold Design

Inside, the cabin reflects the same mix of refinement and purpose. Black leather and Dinamica suede dominate the interior, contrasted with Hyper Lime stitching. The seats feature a reflective gradient detail, reinforcing the GTD’s dual identity as both a precision race car and a statement-making supercar.

With its raw, paint-free finish and precision engineering, the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon represents the pinnacle of Ford’s modern performance design.
